Our Story

Our foodhub provides emergency food parcels to individuals and families in crisis.

Welcome to Bangor Foodbank and Community Support (BFCS), an outreach project of Bangor Elim Church dedicated to making a positive difference in our community in North Down. At BFCS, we believe in showing compassion, kindness, and practical support to those experiencing difficult times, helping to restore hope and dignity.

Our foodhub provides emergency food parcels to individuals and families in crisis, offering a vital lifeline during challenging circumstances. In addition to food assistance, we run financial inclusion programs, helping people navigate debt, access benefits, and develop budgeting skills to regain control of their finances.

We are also committed to addressing wider needs through initiatives such as our Ten Tiny Toes baby bank, which supplies essential items for families with young children, and our cooking academy, which teaches practical skills and promotes healthy, affordable eating. Our addiction drop-in service, money management workshops and Menopause Café are examples of other services we provide. We have plans to introduce new projects such as a Men’s Shed and Community Gardening; this further demonstrates our commitment to building stronger community connections.

We are motivated by a desire to serve and uplift those in need, regardless of background or circumstances. Together, we can create a more resilient, supportive, and connected community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Impact

Last year we gave out 33,000 meals to local charities and clients in need in our local area.

Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.
